Mountain Designs Hells Bells moves around the Sunshine Coast each year
Hells Bells has been designed to move it to a different location on the Sunshine Coast each year. It has been as far north as Rainbow Beach and south as Bribie Island.

With race HQ at the QCCC Mapleton Conference and Camping Centre we are exited to offer accomodation and meal packages to teams. The accomodation is school camp style so think bunk beds and either ensuites or shared bathroom facilities. To book we're offering dorm style single beds as well as seperate rooms for teams or families that want a bit more space and a private area. Families with kids and supporters are of course welcome for the weekend and book.
All accomodation covers Friday afternoon to Sunday after lunch and includes a full meal package starting Friday night through to a big late Sunday breakfast with vegetarian and gluten free options, so it's a really great deal. Accomodation is BYO Linen (pillow, sleeping bag and towel) or if you'd like we can supply for an extra cost.
There's a limited number of rooms and beds available so make sure you lock them in quick if you want to stay (the meal package is awesome).

Mountain Designs Hells Bells headed to Mapleton August 2025!
Mapleton, located in the Hinterland of the Sunshine Coast, has been announced as the official start and finish location for the 2025 edition of the Mountain Designs Hells Bells 24hr Adventure Race.
Over 400 people including competitors, family and friends from around Australia and the Asia Pacific Region will attend the Mountain Designs Hells Bells 24hr Adventure Race from 2-3 August 2025.
The race is held annually on the first weekend in August on the Sunshine Coast. The location of the course is moved each year to a different area to pose exciting new challenges for competitors.
This year’s location of choice, Mapleton, is a 35min drive from the Sunshine Coast Airport and just 70 minutes north of Brisbane.
Race HQ will be at the QCCC Camp Ground where there are a range of accomodation options including bunk beds and private rooms.
Located just north of Brisbane in the centre of the Sunshine Coast, Mapleton is a small and sweet hinterland village with soaring views stretching across the coastal plains and down to the ocean on one side, and dense subtropical rainforest blanketing the other.
Chris Dixon, Wild & Co event director says, “We’re very excited to be heading to Mapleton, we’ve been planning this course for a long time now and, it's the perfect location to start and finish an Adventure Race. It gives us access to some of the best trails and waterways the Sunshine Coast has to offer."
Mountain Designs Hells Bells involves 24hrs of non-stop endurance racing in the major adventure racing disciplines of trekking, mountain biking and kayaking. Mixed gender, Male and Female teams of two or four must navigate their way through an arduous 120+km course that is only revealed to them the day of the race.
"Fairy Bells" runs simultaneously with Mountain Designs Hells Bells. The Fairy Bells covers just over half the distance but teams have the full 24hrs to complete it. The legs will be challenging but with the additional time available to complete the half course, teams have a greater chance to reach the finish line before time is up.
Early Bird Entries close 30 April 2025 and the window for registration closes 1 August 2025.
